CLIC, in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Services, are planning a series of Lunch and Learns. These are 30 minute, virtual, informal sessions that take place at lunchtime - while you take a break and eat, you can listen to our invited speaker give a short talk sharing their experience of improvement work. The session is then open to anyone who has questions or reflections to offer.

Join us for this Lunch and Learn to hear from Laura Heaton-Sutton (Personalised Care Project Lead at NHS North Cumbria CCG), on 'Personalised Care is Everyone's Business'.

This session will provide a snapshot of what personalised care is, the model of personalised care, why it is needed, who is involved, the barriers faced and the difference a conversation can make. It will also look at simple changes everyone can make in everyday practice to make their approach more personalised. The session will involve discussions around health inequalities and how a personalised care approach can make all the difference..

About our speaker...

Laura has almost 10 years’ experience in the NHS having worked her way up from a Band 3 Community Physiotherapy Assistant. Laura believes Personalised Care is key to all roles within health and care as it improves the motivation of the individual to achieve improvements and co-production is the way forward to meet individual needs and wants. She has experienced the success this can lead to; working in a multi-disciplinary, multi-organisational team to form a discharge to assess service.

Laura is originally from Lancashire, however moved to West Cumbria 2 years ago to be with her now wife. She loves to go geocaching at the weekends.
